NCSU Commit to Attend UNC Games

After camping at North Carolina and earning a UNC scholarship offer, Linwan Euwell mentioned the desire to possibly visit schools besides N.C. State – the school he has pledged to – during the fall.

"I plan to attend UNC and N.C. State games," said Euwell. "My teammate wanted to go to some [UNC games], so I'm going to go ahead and attend some of their games."

Euwell, a 6-foot-2 210-pound defensive end from Pinetops (N.C.) Southwest Edgecombe, verbally committed to the Wolfpack in May and says that decision still stands.

"Everything is still the same – I'm still firmly committed to N.C. State," said Euwell. "My mind is set, right now." Regardless, communication between Euwell and UNC assistant coach Kenny Browning, his primary recruiter, hasn't ceased.

"He talks to my coaches – he checks up on me to see how my grades are doing and how I'm doing out on the field," said Euwell. "I haven't talked to him in a while, though."

Euwell does, however, talk to his primary recruiter at N.C. State, Curt Cignetti, "every now and then."

In the meantime, Euwell's focus is on his senior season, which opens Friday against Bethel (N.C.) North Pitt.

"I'm just going to take it one game at a time and look for a state championship," said Euwell.

During his junior season, Euwell totaled 98 tackles including 29 for a loss and 12 sacks earning him Defensive Player-of-the-Year for Wilson Daily Times and All-Conference honors.
