Ben created and maintained UNCbasketball.com for six years, earning recognition from ESPN as the most popular college hoops site on the Internet, before merging with Inside Carolina in the summer of 2001. J.B. joined Inside Carolina in the late summer of 1998 after a short stint as a contributor to UNCbasketball.com. Andy, IC's most productive writer, covers the football and basketball beat, coordinates football recruiting and a monthly contributor to the magazine. He is approaching 20 years of experience as a sportswriter and TV production assistant in and around the ACC. Jim is in his second year as the Inside Carolina photo editor, shooting events for the magazine and web site. He has been photographing ACC sporting events for over two decades, beginning as a free lancer for the Winston-Salem Journal in 1977. His employers have included the Sports Information offices at Wake Forest, Duke and UNC. In addition, he was the staff photographer for the ACC Basketball Handbook for 12 years (1981-1993) and he was one of the key photo contributors for the UNC and NCSU National Championship books published in 1982, 1983 and 1993.
When Jeff's not busy freelancing for the likes of the USA Today, Washington Post and Boston Globe, he's reporting on Tar Heel basketball recruits for IC. His former work has included being a national sportswriter for the AP in NYC and senior editor of School Sports. He covers Tar Heels in the professional ranks for the IC magazine.
Mike is a senior writer, beginning his 7th year as a reporter and columnist with Inside Carolina. His contributions of late have been columns for the web site and editorials for the magazine. A Raleigh native and lifelong Tar Heel, Mike is a professional fundraiser and small business owner in Birmingham, Ala. (Email Mike)

Mark grew up in Big Ten country, but moved to Chapel Hill for keeps a decade ago. Thad has elevated into an elite category of respected Carolina basketball columnists and we are proud and honored that he resides at Inside Carolina. He is is the author of More Than a Game: Why North Carolina Basketball Means So Much To So Many (available HERE) and has provided his "Thoughts" at IC for years. A Chapel Hill native, he operated the manual scoreboard formerly located at the end of the UNC bench between the 1982-83 and 1987-88 seasons in Carmichael and the Smith Center. While providing analysis for the site and magazine, Thad is currently finishing up his graduate degree at Harvard University. (Email Thad)
Mark helps keep tabs on the players on the Carolina recruiting board. He interviews prospects for the site and helps cover the gridiron high school scene for the magazine. Mark gew up outside of Greensboro and served for six years in the U.S. Navy. He has been with IC for over two years.
IC's Richmond-based hoops recruiting analyst, is the former publisher of High Major Hoops, a highly regarded national recruiting web site. He has also written for such publications as CNNSI, The Sporting News, SLAM Magazine and FOX Sports. Clint is also IC's ad sales rep for the site and magazine. (Email Clint)
Tom heads the football side of the site's efforts in game and recruiting videos. One of the original founders of The Tar Pit, he started and operated Prep Atlantic Recruiting for four years before joining back up with Buck and the rest of the crew at the new IC digs. In his first year with the TheInsiders.com network, ACC recruiting analyst Miller Safrit is quickly becoming one of the respected names in the recruiting circles of the region. Safrit comes to the company after reporting on recruiting with PrepAtlantic in 2000 followed by starting independent site ACPreps.com in the spring of 2002. Simply put, Dave Telep is the most respected recruiting analyst and high school scout among college basketball coaches. The Raleigh native started with Prep Stars and the Recruiter's Handbook in 1997 and has since worked for Rivals, CNNSI, The Sporting News and the ACC Handbook before joining TheInsiders network in 2001. Telep also runs the nation's top high school scouting service and is a voting member of the McDonald's All-American Game.
