"The offense looked good, but they didn't throw it to the tight end as much."
With Saunders looking at a late October decision, the next step for the 6-foot-5 270-pound jumbo athlete is to take official visits. This weekend, he heads to Louisville for his first official visit. Saunders has one scheduled with Penn State (October 14th against Michigan) and is close to setting up a date with South Carolina.
For the remaining two visits, Saunders is looking at Clemson and Wake Forest. He says UNC won't get an official since he's so familiar with the campus and the program.
"I go to [to UNC] like every other weekend and it's right up the street from my house so I really don't see a need to go up there," said Saunders.
Saunders is still maintaining he's completely open in his recruitment.
"Everybody is still equal," said Saunders. "I'm wide open now until I take all of my official visits. I want to see what everybody has to offer."
Before heading to Chapel Hill Saturday, Saunders played a major role in Durham (N.C.) Riverside's upset victory over Garner (N.C.).
"Our school has never beaten Garner before, so that was pretty big," said Saunders. "We got to get over it and focus on Raleigh (N.C.) Wakefield for next week."
On the year, Saunders has three touchdowns – two receiving and one rushing. On defense, he has recorded 26 tackles and four sacks.
