Bell, a product of Virginia Beach (Va.) Kempsville, informed the UNC coaches and figures to be in Chapel Hill for the Furman game this weekend.
"I talked to the coaches in the morning time and let them know I wasn't going to be able to make it," said Bell. "It wasn't a problem. They told me to let them know when I wanted to come to a game."
Bell was able to watch the game from the comfort of his own home.
"I was a little disappointed," said Bell. "I thought they would play Virginia Tech a little bit tighter. But, it was a nice game."
Currently, Bell holds a verbal scholarship offer from the Tar Heels as he waits for things to sort out with his academics. UNC is still his leader, but he said Virginia Tech and East Carolina are just steps behind the Tar Heels.
Kempsville dropped their first game of the season Friday, but Bell caught two passes for 62 yards. On the year, Bell has recorded five catches for 132 yards and two touchdowns.
