Sturdivant, a 6-foot-3 220-pound jumbo athlete from Oakboro (N.C.) West Stanly, spoke to his primary recruiter at UNC, Dave Brock, after the game.
"He just asked me how I was doing," said Sturdivant. "We really didn't talk about much."
With UNC's 0-2 start, rumors began to circulate that Sturdivant had changed leaders. However, Sturdivant quickly squashes that gossip.
"It's still the same, I'm still leaning towards North Carolina," said Sturdivant. "I still feel the same, really – good school, good coaches. They've just got to put it together, that's all."
Sturdivant is still planning to make a final decision on his future school following his September 30th official visit to Florida. He also plans to officially visit North Carolina, but hasn't set a date, yet.
Sturdivant said he figures to stay at home this Saturday and not unofficially visit any school.
Before heading to Chapel Hill last weekend, Sturdivant returned to his team after suffering an injury two weeks earlier. Although he didn't play defense, Sturidvant passed for two touchdowns and led West Stanly to a 20-17 victory over Piedmont (N.C.).
This Friday, West Stanly travels to East Rowan where Sturdivant plans to see some reps on defense.
