"We'll watch the film tomorrow to see what we can get out of it. That's a tough pill to swallow. We didn't expect that. They're a good football team. They're fast on defense. They're fast up front. We responded last week against Furman, but we didn't respond this week. We can't expect to win many games playing like that."

Was this louder than a high school game?

"Louder than a high school game. The atmosphere down here is great. These fans down here are great. "

How fast were their defensive ends?

"They're fast. They move well. In the overall scheme of things, we handled them pretty well. They got in a few times, but overall, protection issues were not there. We had none. I've got to set my feet and let go of the ball a little better. I didn't let go of the ball real well today. It didn't feel real well coming off for whatever reason, but it wasn't because of the pressure. Give those guys a lot of credit. They applied pressure on the run, and they defended the pass well."

Are you guys going to be able to come back after this?

"We're going to try. In football, you can't dwell on a loss like this. You have to look forward. We're going to look forward to Miami. We're going to go into this bye week to work on the basics and get better."

How would you rank the offensive line?

"That's a good unit right there. They've got a nice bond."

How do you explain what happened today?

"I don't know right now. When we get back to Chapel Hill and watch film, I will. Right now, I'm at a loss for words. I wasn't expecting anything like this, so I don't know."

"We just came out flat. You can't do that against good teams. When you come out flat against good teams, they're going to do what Clemson did. We had no enthusiasm; no intensity. It was just an overall bad performance for everybody. I can't explain why. I thought we had a good week of practice. It was just one of those things. We let things get out of hand. We just have to bounce back."

What do you do to turn things around?

"It's nothing that the coaches aren't doing. We've got the best coaching staff we've had around here in a long time. Our players have got to take pride and go out there and leave everything on the field."
