All Even for Sturdivant

On the heels of his official visit to Florida, Quan Sturdivant says his recruitment is now equal between his two final schools – North Carolina and Florida.

"[The visit] evens it out more," said Sturdivant. "[The visit] went better than I thought it would. It was real nice; I had a real good time."

During his stay, Sturdivant, a 6-foot-3 220-pound jumbo athlete from Oakboro (N.C.) West Stanly, toured the campus and hung out with members of the coaching staff. However, the highlight of his visit was the Florida-Alabama game.

"The fans were crazy," said Sturdivant. "I loved the game atmosphere."

Sturdivant was hosted by a fellow North Carolina native, freshman linebacker Brandon Spikes.

"I hung out with Brandon Spikes for a little while," said Sturdivant. "We were just around his dorm, just chilling [and] just talking. He talked about how much he liked Florida."

Just like North Carolina, the Gators are recruiting Sturdivant for either linebacker or safety.

Originally, Sturdivant had planned on making his college decision shortly following his visit to Gainesville. However, he has since decided to officially visit North Carolina before finalizing anything.

"I decided before visiting Florida that I'd take an official visit to Carolina," said Sturdivant. "I just want to make sure that I've seen everything."

A date has yet to be scheduled for his official visit to Chapel Hill.

Whenever decision time does come, Sturdivant knows his decision will be a difficult one.

"Both of them have wonderful academics," said Sturdivant. "Florida is doing better on the field, but both are very good schools."

With Sturdivant playing quarterback and safety, West Stanly is off to a 4-3 start.
