Sturdivant Will Official this Weekend

Quan Sturdivant has worked out the details for his official visit to North Carolina.

"I'm coming down this weekend," said Sturdivant. "Last week – I think – I set it up with Coach [Dave] Brock. [The South Florida game] seemed like a good game."

Two weekends ago, Sturdivant, a 6-foot-3 220-pound jumbo athlete from Oakboro (N.C.) West Stanly, officially visited Florida. He plans to choose between the Tar Heels and Gators shortly after his trip to UNC.

"Somewhere afterwards [I'll make my college decision]," said Sturdivant. "Probably in about a week or two I'll do it."

According to Sturdivant, things are currently equal between the two schools.

During his Chapel Hill stay, Sturdivant is looking to build upon his experiences during previous visits to UNC.

"I just want to see how I fit in with the players and everything and get to know the coaches a little bit more," said Sturdivant.

In addition to attending North Carolina's individual camp in June, Sturdivant has been on hand for both the Rutgers and Virginia Tech games.

Before heading to Chapel Hill, Sturdivant will lead West Stanly into a big conference match-up against Marshville (N.C.) Forest Hills on Friday night. With Sturdivant playing quarterback and safety, West Stanly is off to a 4-3 start.
