Little Expected the Change

When his father called him Sunday night, Greg Little wasn't shocked by the actual news, but he was surprised by the timing of the announcement that John Bunting would not be the head coach at North Carolina after the season.

"I kind of figured it would happen sooner or later, but just not this soon," said Little.

During a press conference a few weeks back, instead of announcing his college decision Little announced North Carolina and Notre Dame as his final schools. The anticipation of a UNC coaching change contributed to his choice to hold off.

"That was a factor and a couple of other things played into it as well," said Little. "But that definitely was a factor."

The coaching change at North Carolina doesn't hurt the Tar Heels' chances of landing the Scout.com four-star prospect.

"I would just think of it if it was the same situation," said Little.

Actually, Little is intrigued but the candidates rumored to be considered for the vacancy.

"They've been talking about some pretty good coaches coming in," said Little. "Butch Davis is a name I've heard a lot. I think the system that he runs is pretty good and they could run it to perfection at the University of North Carolina."

Currently, Little proclaims "it's still pretty even" between the Tar Heels and Fighting Irish. Additionally, he still doesn't have any sort of time frame to make a decision.

"I think just when I know, it will just hit me," said Little. "I don't really have a date set."
