ACC's best to star in charity game

Some of the best basketball players who have competed in the Atlantic Coast Conference recently will take part in a charity alumni exhibition game Aug. 25. Game time at Raleigh's Entertainment and Sports Arena is 6:30 p.m. ...

Former UNC All-America Jerry Stackhouse, now a star guard for the Detroit Pistons, has been the driving force in arranging the game. ... Also scheduled to play in the game are Golden State's Antawn Jamison, the unanimous National Player of the Year in 1998 at UNC; Toronto's Vince Carter, also of UNC.

Other former collegians include UNC's Rasheed Wallace, Jeff McInnis, Shammond Williams, Sam Perkins, Donald Williams and Brendan Haywood; N.C. State's Chucky Brown and Charles Shackleford; Duke's Carlos Boozer and Corey Maggette; and Rodney Rogers and Delaney Rudd of Wake Forest.
