Wolfpack Commit Visits Chapel Hill

N.C. State pledge Linwan Euwell was among the recruits on hand for North Carolina's bout with archrival N.C. State this past weekend.

"Me and Sam [Battle] went to Carolina just to check out the game," said Euwell. "Both of us wanted to go to see a battle between two rivals."

Over the summer, Euwell attended the Tar Heels' July camp, but this was the first time he witnessed a game in Kenan Stadium this season.

"It was a good game," said Euwell. "The stadium was nice and they had a good crowd."

Euwell, a 6-foot-2 210-pound defensive end from Pinetops (N.C.) Southwest Edgecombe, verbally committed to N.C. State in May. Despite the unofficial visit to Chapel Hill, Euwell affirms that his pledge is still firm.

"It was just to see the game," said Euwell. "I'm still firmly committed to N.C. State, right now. My mind is still on [N.C.] State no matter what happens [with the coaching staff]."

Currently, Euwell's focus is his senior football season in which he stars at tight end and defensive end for Southwest Edgecombe, which is 12-0 and in the second round of the NCHSAA 3A Playoffs.

"Things have been going great," said Euwell. "We play Eastern Alamance, Friday. We got to go out there and play hard like we've been doing all season long."

On the season, Euwell has recorded 70 tackles and nine sacks.
