On preparations for Ohio State -

I'm going to treat it like any other game – just go out there, play hard, and do what I can to help our team win.

What did you learn from your trip to Madison Square Garden?

We learned a lot of things. We looked at video clips of each game and took a little bit from each game and tried to improve on it in practice. I think we've done a lot.

On Roy Williams' comments that maybe the teams' confidence was shaken a little bit -

It could be. A lot of times for the freshmen, you come in and you don't know what to expect at first. With experience, that will help and just keep on playing. Once we come within ourselves and get a little experience under our belt, we'll be fine.

On impressions of Greg Oden -

I played against him in high school when he was at Lawrence (Ind.) North. He's a long player who does a lot defensively and offensively. I think he's a big factor, but he's not going to be playing tomorrow. So we'll go out there and prepare the same way we would for any other game. I'd be happy for him if he played, but at the same time, I'm not going to change anything I do.

On Wayne Ellington -

He's a confident shooter. His shooting ability has really helped our team in many ways, especially when we get double-teamed down low and things like that. I think that's the most impressive thing.

On the team's defensive play so far -

Obviously I think we can get a lot better. We learned that in New York, and that's something the coaches have stressed that we improve.

How have things changed with the team's personnel this year?

Last year we had David [Noel], who could do a lot of things. He could be actually a wing player, too. I think this year we have two solid big men, and we can look for a lot of things. Me and Brandan [Wright] have a lot of high-lows and things like that. At the same time, we can play a lot more aggressive and not worry about foul trouble all of the time.
