Gray Waiting on UNC

Since the regime change in North Carolina's football program, Tar Heel pledge Chris Gray says he has heard very little from members of the coaching staff.

"Right now, I haven't heard very much from the coaches," said Gray. "I talked to Coach [Andre] Powell last week. He said they were still trying to put their coaching staff together and he really didn't know what to tell me."

Gray, a 6-foot-4 240-pound offensive lineman from Landrum (S.C.), has no other choice but to explore other options.

"Right now, I'm just going to kind of keep myself open in case something goes wrong just so I can have another option," said Gray. "He said [my offer] was still was on the table, but it was depending on the new staff if they want to keep my offer."

Marshall and a handful of Division I-AA schools make up most of Gray's backup options.

Gray has scheduled an official visit with Georgia Southern for January 12th. He's also in the process of working out a date with Marshall. Shortly following his performance at the Tar Heels' July individual camp, Gray was extended a UNC scholarship offer. Days later, he verbally committed.
