"Ryan Houston told me to come to Carolina with him. And then I was talking to Coach ‘Thig' [Tommy Thigpen] and he said just come up January 19th."
Ingram, a 6-foot-2 220-pound linebacker from Rockingham (N.C.) Richmond County, verbally committed to South Carolina roughly two weeks ago.
"South Carolina is most likely the place I'm going," said Ingram. "I'm looking for the best place to spend the next four years of my life, and South Carolina feels like that place."
Although a date has yet to be set, Ingram is also looking to officially visit Alabama.
Ingram's current focus is the Shrine Bowl, where he's been one of the best – if not the best – linebackers on the practice field.
"I'm playing middle linebacker," said Ingram. "I'm seeing a lot of time [during practice]. I hope I'm starting."
During his senior season, Ingram collected 89 tackles (53 solo) including four for a loss and two sacks, two interceptions, and two forced fumbles.
