"I'm thinking about taking one to Michigan State, as of late," said Saunders. "I have to get in contact with Coach [Ted] Gill up there."
Regardless, Saunders is essentially down to three schools.
"Basically, I'm down to Louisville, South Carolina, and North Carolina – those are my big three," said Saunders. "They've been my focus. It was just other schools were coming in and out. Those three schools have been on me the entire time and haven't let up."
Between the three, Saunders doesn't have a leader.
"I'm not leaning in any direction," said Saunders. "But, Louisville did have an impressive showing [Tuesday] night."
As North Carolina's new staff continues to work to develop a relationship with Saunders, both Butch Davis and Tommy Thigpen keep up a regular line of communication with him. Also, newly hired assistant Steve Hagen has reached out to him.
"I've talked to Coach Hagen, the tight end coach, a few times in the last few days," said Saunders. "Nothing specifically, he was telling me he's the new tight end coach and he'd like a chance for us to sit down and talk. I'm supposed to be meeting up with him this weekend. I'll be going to the Florida State basketball game."
Each member of his "big three" is recruiting Saunders as a tight end.
