Euwell Visits Chapel Hill

N.C. State pledge Linwan Euwell was among the recruits unofficially on hand for North Carolina's basketball game against Florida State.

"I wanted to come up there to see the new coach and I decided to stay for the basketball game," said Euwell.

Hosted by his primary recruiter, Kenny Browning, Euwell was introduced to his position coach.

"Coach [John] Blake is my position coach," said Euwell. "He's a great guy with a great personality. He was saying to just to keep focused on my schoolwork and just keep [UNC] in mind."

Additionally, Euwell received his first opportunity to attend a basketball game in the Smith Center.

"It was a great atmosphere," said Euwell. "I was surrounded by good people and great fans."

Euwell, a 6-foot-2 210-pound defensive end from Pinetops (N.C.) Southwest Edgecombe, verbally committed to N.C. State in May.

"Right now, I'd say [my pledge is] still like it was from the beginning," said Euwell. "I'm keeping my options open, because there's no guarantee things will go as planned. I'm going to keep my options open, but I'm still committed to [N.C.] State."

There's also a chance that Euwell will officially visit other schools outside of N.C. State.

"I probably won't [take any other official visits]," said Euwell. "I might take one other official visit and that's it."

That "one other" would be North Carolina.

"I couldn't tell you right now [what the odds are that I visit UNC]," said Euwell. "I won't know until I get my plans straight. I couldn't tell you, right now."

Euwell heads to Raleigh this weekend for his official visit with the Wolfpack.
