Okulaja signs with new team in Spain

After parting ways with F.C. Barcelona last week, former Tar Heel Ademola Okulaja has agreed on a two-year deal, reportedly at $600,000 per season, with Unicaja Malaga of Spain's ACB League, as announced by the team.

This will be Ademola's third season playing in the ACB League in Spain. He averaged 15.7 points and 6.7 rebounds last year.

Okulaja is currently in Indianapolis as a member of Germany's National Team awaiting the start of the 2002 World Basketball Championship on Thursday. Former Tar Heel Henrik Rodl is also on the German National Team.

Thursday, in a Group C Preliminary Round 1 contest, Germany opens against China, followed by a meeting with the USA team, coached by former UNC star George Karl, on Friday (7 p.m., ESPN2) and then wraps up first round play versus Algeria on Saturday.
