Florida DE Working Out UNC Visit

Although committed to Central Florida, Jack Carter is considering an official visit to North Carolina. UNC dropped by Miami (Fla.) Coral Reef on Tuesday afternoon to further discuss the situation.

"They came to my school today," said Carter. "They're trying to set up a visit. They really haven't gone into detail about anything, because they know that I'm still committed to UCF."

Carter, a 6-foot-2 225-pound defensive end, said that he'll take his only official visit outside of UCF to UNC if all the kinks are worked out.

"They just got all my information and they're probably going to come back with the information [for a visit] either late this week or early next week," said Carter.

In spite of the visit, Carter maintains that his commitment to Central Florida is solid.

"There's no particular reason [why I'm visiting UNC]," said Carter. "I just want to enjoy the recruiting process."

A week before the Christmas break, North Carolina began to show interest in Carter, who is cousins with Nate Webster (coached by Butch Davis at Miami) and continued to keep in contact with him over the phone.

The Tar Heels have yet to extend Carter a scholarship offer.

Carter's high school career ended with a selection to the Dade-Broward all-star game in which is forced a fumble and made two tackles. During his senior season, Carter recorded 13 sacks.
