Euwell, a 6-foot-2 210-pound defensive end from Pinetops (N.C.) Southwest Edgecombe, verbally committed to N.C. State in May during the Chuck Amato era. However, he officially visited rival North Carolina over the weekend.
"There was a new coaching staff at [N.C. State], so I decided I should try to get to know both coaching staffs," said Euwell.
After arriving in Chapel Hill Saturday morning, Euwell was hosted by Bryan Dixon.
"[The visit] was nice," said Euwell. "I really liked the coaches and the players. The coaches, they're real people. They keep you informed with the stuff that's going on up there."
Euwell won't take any other official visits, stating that his decision will come down to North Carolina and N.C. State. Currently, his pledge to the Wolfpack is still valid.
"[My commitment] is still there," said Euwell. "I'm just keeping my options open – that's it."
Come decision time, Euwell will weigh education and coaching staffs very highly, he said. Although he's still doing his research on both schools, he said thinks highly of both UNC's and NCSU's coaching staffs.
Euwell isn't sure when he'll finalize his decision, but declared it will be around Signing Day.
