Coach really stressed the offensive boards at halftime. We came out and made that our focus in the second half.

What impresses you most about Lawson?

Just how quick he is. He's very quick and he's got that extra speed.

On controlling the boards in the second half; was it just a matter of boxing out?

I think it could have been. It was one of those things that Coach came in and stressed, so it was in the back of our minds.

[Lawson] helps a lot. He helps open up a lot of things. Ty's penetration opens up the lanes and other things.

On winning at Wake Forest by 28 points -

It does a lot for our confidence. It's one game, and there are still a lot of things we need to improve on before we go play at Arizona.

On the lift Ty Lawson gave the team at halftime -

We just told him to keep attacking. He stayed out of foul trouble [in the second half], because when he's in the game he does a good job of getting in the lane, getting their big men in foul trouble and getting the ball to our big men. He kept attacking, got some easy points, played some good defense and that's when we went on a run.

Anybody can give us a jump start. It gets everybody into the game. Everybody feeds off each other. He helped us a lot in the second half.

On taking out first half frustration in the second half -

That's what I was trying to do, get going, and just get back and score. That's what Coach [Roy Williams] told me to do, because that was one thing we were lacking in the first half.

On road games -

We've just got to go in and get these crowds out of the games. We wanted to get the crowd out of the game and spread the defense and get Tyler [Hansbrough] the ball. That's the main key for us winning.

On not feeling pressure to score -

With Tyler, Brandan [Wright] and Wayne [Ellington], I don't need to shoot the ball that much. But I need to shoot to keep the defense honest, so they don't think I'm going to drive all the time.

Does Coach Williams want you to score more?

In practice everyday he's tells me like, you could have taken this shot or you could have taken that shot in games. He's telling me to shoot more.

On getting Ishmael Smith in foul trouble -

I knew he was a great player, because I played against him in high school. He's quick up and down the court. He's got great court vision. Getting him in foul trouble is key, because they didn't have anybody else that could play defense like him.
