"I have a game Saturday, so I'd come down Sunday and leave probably Monday."
Hubbard, a 6-foot-3 225-pound wide receiver from Lakewood (Ohio) St. Edwards, hopes to have the details of the official trip ironed out by Thursday.
According to Hubbard, time is of the essence.
"It's a time thing now since Signing Day is February seventh," said Hubbard. "I've just got to pretty much make up my mind soon."
Not surprisingly, the Panthers, who Hubbard's still verbally committed to, still maintain a lead over the Tar Heels.
"Pretty much, [I like] the atmosphere – Pittsburgh is more like Cleveland's atmosphere; when I go down [to Pitt], I feel at home; and it's not too far away from my mom," said Hubbard.
Therefore, the Tar Heel coaches have a challenge ahead of them if they plan on snatching Hubbard away from Pitt.
"[They need to] probably surprise me," said Hubbard. "It has to probably just be something I'd be thinking I've never seen anything like this before. Everything else is cool with North Carolina."
