Austin Hitting the Home Stretch

Despite the growing rumors and speculation, Marvin Austin says he hasn't yet made his college decision.

He also wouldn't admit to a leader at this time.

"No, no leader," said Austin on Monday evening.

Austin, a 6-foot-2 300-pound defensive tackle from Washington (D.C.) Ballou, is still planning on announcing on National Signing Day between Florida State, North Carolina, Southern Cal, and Tennessee.

Austin's announcement will be made at a press conference from the ESPN Zone where it will be televised live. The time and channel details have yet to be determined.

In the meantime, Austin will spend this week hosting college coaches for in-home visits.

"Coach [Pete] Carroll's coming in [Tuesday], Coach [Bobby] Bowden's coming Wednesday, and Coach [John] Blake is coming back Thursday," said Austin.

Blake dropped by Austin's home last Thursday and met with the Scout.com five-star prospect and his family.

"It was good, it went really well," said Austin. "[He talked about] the good opportunity at North Carolina and the opportunity for him to coach me."

With no visits on tap this weekend, Austin plans to make progress towards a decision over the weekend.

"I'm going to talk things over with my family," said Austin. "We'll look at the whole picture and then come up with a decision."
