What are your impressions of the rivalry with NC State?

I didn't get the full effect, but it's pretty intense. The fans are really into it. It's a great rivalry. In these games, anything can happen. So we try to come in as focused as possible and try to come out with a win.

Do you hear some things over there that you don't hear in the Smith Center?

Yes, definitely. They have some fans that will do their homework. They'll find out some things about you didn't know they knew, and they'll scream it out and say it. They don't care about hurting your feelings.

On what went wrong against Virginia Tech -

We didn't give them the respect that they deserved. We know now we respect every team we play, because anything can happen on any given night. From now on we're going to play as hard as we can, do what Coach asks us to do and play as hard as we can.

On NC State's personnel and how they the team plays -

They're athletic. Gavin Grant at 6-7 is long. They have a couple of wing players that are long and athletic and can run a little bit. They're a run and gun team; they shoot a lot of threes. They like to run just like us, but I think that we have more depth and we can take advantage of that. We can get them tired. They did a good job against Virginia Tech, so we don't know what to expect.

Was it an eye-opener to see that State won at Virginia Tech?

Definitely. It was an eye-opener for everybody really that anything can happen in the ACC. Virginia Tech is a great team, and they played really well.
