The only problem was Lattimore, a 6-foot-2 210-pound defensive end from Hialeah (Fla.) Hialeah-Miami Lakes, didn't have a UNC scholarship offer.
"They told they are recruiting some other big time players and if things fall through with them I could be offered," said Lattimore.
In the meantime, UNC assistant coach Charlie Williams, who began recruiting him in December, speaks to Lattimore daily updating him on UNC's situation.
This past weekend, Lattimore missed the flight for his official visit to Florida A&M.
This coming weekend he is scheduled to officially visit Toledo, the only school that has offered Lattimore a scholarship. Lattimore revealed that he could verbally commit to the Rockets while in Toledo.
During his UNC official visit, Lattimore, who was hosted by fellow defensive end E.J. Wilson, attended both football and academic meetings, and partied with the players.
As a senior, Lattimore recorded nine sacks and returned a block punt for a touchdown earning All-Area honors.
