UNC Among Ramsay's Finalists

Former Boston College pledge Devon Ramsay will announce his college destination on National Signing Day, and is omitting the Eagles from contention.

"I'm making a decision tomorrow," said Ramsey on Tuesday evening. "My finalists are Villanova, William and Mary, North Carolina, and Maryland."

Ramsey, a 6-foot-2 245-pound jumbo athlete from Lawrenceville (N.J.), has officially visited -- and claims to have scholarship offers -- from all four finalists.

Following his official visit to Chapel Hill, Ramsey told Inside Carolina that UNC had yet to offer. That evidently wasn't the case.

"Apparently I did [have a UNC offer]," said Ramsey. "I was confused. I didn't really know exactly what they were saying."

On Tuesday night, Ramsey spoke to both head coach Butch Davis and primary recruiter Steve Hagen on the phone.

"[They talked about] playing time and my ability and maturity as a person," said Ramsey.

Ramsey insists that North Carolina is recruiting him as a tailback with no talks of a move to the defensive side of the ball.

As of Tuesday night, Ramsey had yet to finalize his decision.

"I'm going to make a list and figure it out," said Ramsey. "[I'll be considering] location, academics, playing time, and relationship with the coaching staff."

Ramsey will announce his decision and fax in his National Letter of Intent tomorrow morning from his high school.

In just nine games, Ramsay rushed for 1,038 yards and 16 touchdowns during his senior season. He also collected 42 tackles, six sacks, and one interception.
