Heels Offer Junior N.Y. Wideout

Marcus Sales, a 6-foot-2, 185-pound wide receiver, teamed with UNC signee Mike Paulus for a strong 2006 season at Christian Brothers Academy. Sales' recruitment is already picking up a bit of steam. He picked up his second offer of the week on Wednesday and may have more on the way.

"North Carolina offered me yesterday," Sales explained. "I had met the old coaching staff when they were up here for (Mike) Paulus and was told they'd be back for me.

"I'd love to go down South for school and UNC has a really nice campus, so I'll definitely look into them."

Sales, a member of Scout.com's 2008 Hot 100, already has an offer from Miami as well.

"I also spoke with (Miami coach) Randy Shannon on Signing Day just so we could have our first conversation," Sales added. "He told me to feel free to call him whenever I'd like.

"Iowa is another school that's been in touch recently, so I'll be talking to one of their coaches this week. I think I may end up with another offer from them."

His decision is a full year away, and he's nowhere close to establishing a short list of favorites, but Sales does know what he's looking for in a school.

"Academics, playing time, location, NFL success at wide receiver and my comfort level with the staff are my priorities when looking at a school," Sales stated. "It's in that particular order for me, but right now I don't know who I really like as I'm in the middle of basketball season. When the season is over I plan to start to narrow things down a bit."

As a junior at Christian Brothers Academy, Sales caught 33 catches for over 600 yards and seven touchdowns despite missing two games.
