Reid named ACC Defensive Back Player of the Week

Chapel Hill -- University of North Carolina free safety Dexter Reid (Norfolk, Va.) has been named the ACC Defensive Back Player of the Week.

Reid had 21 tackles, including 13 solos and eight assists in North Carolina¹s 31-27 loss to Miami (Ohio). The 6-0, 187-pound junior also broke up two passes.

UNC held Miami QB Ben Roethlisberger to under 50% completions for the first time in his career and the 204 yards passing for Roethlisberger were his fewest in the last nine games.

This is the second career ACC Player of the Week honor for Reid. His first came last year against Virginia, a game in which he returned an interception for a touchdown in a six-point victory.
