On his role as a senior -

To do the best I can do to the best of my ability.

On his three after BC cut lead to nine points in second half -

It just happened. Tywon got the ball to my side and I was able to convert the shot. It's been a big question this year about Carolina's leadership, but we try to have everybody involved, and hopefully it's not just one man effort. Everybody on this team can be a leader. That's just the way we've looked at it this year.

From time to time I'm going to have to do some things that the younger guys aren't familiar with. I just try to lead by example, but for the most part this whole team has done a great job of stepping up. We try not to worry about little things like that.

On the importance of this tournament -

I know we haven't won it in awhile, but that just kind of adds to the fact. We want to win it because we're here and we're playing.

On UNC's depth in a three/four-day stretch -

We are deep. If we can keep a lot of fresh guys in, we'll be prepared.

On vision problems playing with mask -

If I'm not going to be able to see to shoot the ball with this thing, I'm going to have to do something to help this team. So I was thinking about just being able to rebound.

On UNC's defense and keeping VT off the offensive glass -

Our defense helped a lot, and we got a lot of box-outs.

How close was this game to the team's most complete performance of the year -

I think it is about as close as we've been. The biggest thing about it is to continue to make strides. There were a couple of times we let up a little bit... but we have to be happy about the fact we almost played a complete game. As long as we understand we still have strides to make, then we'll have to play a big-time game tomorrow.

On Coach Roy Williams saying this was one of UNC's best defensive efforts -

I feel like everybody on this team gave great effort. The big men did great jobs helping out on the perimeter screens. The guards did a great job of getting rebounds and helping the bigs on the boards. It's an all around great effort. We've just got to come out tomorrow and give that same effort.

On Hansbrough's effort on the boards -

It's a great emotional lift to see him battling inside the way he was. It's great to see him go out there, and that really lifts the whole team.
