Davis' Chemo Almost Over

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. --- Other than the obligatory loss of hair, Butch Davis' chemotherapy treatments seem to be taking a minimal toll on North Carolina's head coach.

Davis said in wrapping up his post-game press conference following the Tar Heels' Spring Game on Saturday, that he has just one precautionary treatment remaining to deal with after a potentially-cancerous growth in his mouth was removed last month.

"It's a tribute to Telly Savalas," Davis joked in reference to his hair loss and the renowned TV star who played Kojak in the mid-70s.

"I feel great."

In two weeks, he hopes this will all be over.

Davis reiterated his commitment to rebuilding the Carolina football program, and again insisted that his medical condition would not slow him down in any way – including his ability to get out and recruit this summer.
