Heels Out in Front for Reddick

Kevin Reddick admits that during his latest unofficial visit to North Carolina Saturday, the 6-foot-1 215-pound linebacker from New Bern (N.C.) had thoughts of committing.

"They're still at the top, but I want to keep my options open," said Reddick. "I'm not going to commit until next year, but I'm liking them, though. I'm liking them a lot."

Nobody from North Carolina has pressured Reddick, a strong UNC lean, to go ahead and make a pledge, but there have been talks of spring enrollment.

While eligible for December graduation, Reddick doesn't want to forgo the remainder of his senior season.

Reddick has unofficially visited UNC a couple of times already this spring. However, until Saturday he has never soaked in the game time atmosphere of Kenan Stadium or seen UNC's defense under Butch Davis in action.

"It was good," said Reddick. "They were out there flying around.

"I was watching the linebackers – basically I was watching the whole defense more than anything. The offense looked good, though. I was really watching the offense, but when I did I saw good things."

After observing the Spring Game, Reddick spoke quickly with his primary recruiter, Charlie Williams. He then met with linebacker coach Tommy Thigpen.

"He took me in his office to watch film – me and another linebacker [Etienne] Sabino," said Reddick. "He was going over some plays. And then he was drawing plays on the board and asking us questions and we were answering them. It was like we were on the team."

Outside of participating in the Shrine Bowl Combine on April 28th and Scout.com's All-American Combine on May 12th, Reddick doesn't have any football related events scheduled until the summer.

Over the summer, Reddick said he plans on returning to UNC's one-day camp and will also camp at East Carolina and N.C. State.
