Sales Plans UNC Visit

SYRACUSE, N.Y. --- The North Carolina staff hopes wide receiver Marcus Sales will be another powerful addition to its impressive corps of young receivers. And his former quarterback at Christian Brothers Academy, UNC 2007 signee Mike Paulus, is working hard to convince Sales to join him in Chapel Hill.

"I'm trying," Paulus said during an interview at his school recently. "I brought a friend down with me to Carolina (for the spring game); and when he got back, he told Marcus, ‘You've got to go there.'"

"Marcus is just a very, very athletic kid," Paulus said. "He's blessed with all the athletic potential in the world. He's starting to work at it now and realize that potential."

A four-star prospect according to, Sales had 25 catches for 625 yards and nine touchdowns as a sophomore and 33 catches for 600 yards and seven touchdowns as a junior.

"I'm definitely visiting North Carolina," Sales said. "I haven't scheduled it yet, but I'm definitely going to get it set up."

The 6-2, 185-pound rising senior has already been offered by Miami, North Carolina, Syracuse, Pittsburgh, Virginia and Louisville.

"Having all these offers, he sees how good he can be," Paulus said. "I tell him all of the time ‘You've got to start preparing for college now.' He's turned it on. He's lifting. He's got good hands and he runs good routes. He's real smooth.

"I think sometimes he just needs to get more aggressive. But otherwise, he's just a real good player."
