Mason played center and power forward for the Firebirds averaging a double-double (10 points per-game and 10 rebounds per-game).
Between his football season and his basketball team's title run, Mason, a 6-foot-5 215-pound wide receiver, selected and signed with North Carolina.
With basketball over, Mason has shifted his focus to preparing for his freshman season at North Carolina.
"I've just been working out and running," said Mason.
UNC wide receivers coach Charlie Williams continues to keep in contact with Mason regularly.
"He talks about what I need academically and he asks me how I'm doing with my workouts," said Mason.
Mason, who is already fully qualified, will arrive on campus on June 16th.
"I just want to come in and do the best that I can do to help the team out," said Mason. "I just want an opportunity to play and possibly start."
