Reddick Returns to Chapel Hill

On his trip back to New Bern from's Combine in Charlotte, Kevin Reddick and his father made a pit stop in Chapel Hill.

"I just wanted to go up there and chill for a little while with Coach [Tommy] Thigpen," said Reddick, who had been invited the previous weekend to come to campus.

While on the road, Reddick, a 6-foot-2 210-pound linebacker from New Bern (N.C.), called Thigpen, who was home at the time. Thigpen went on to extend a dinner invitation.

"He took us to this place called the Carolina Inn," said Reddick. "We just sat around and talked, had some laughs, and then we got something to eat.

"He talked to me a little bit, but he mostly talked to my dad. He basically was just talking about school and just talking about personal things and just telling me Carolina's a great place."

Thigpen was accompanied by a representative of UNC's academic department.

With all the time Reddick has spent with Thigpen in person and on the phone, their bond continues to strengthen.

"[Our relationship] is progressing real well," said Reddick. "It's like father and son. We talk a lot."

Reddick said he remains a strong UNC lean. However, he's still looking at a Signing Day decision.

"I'm not going to try to commit early," said Reddick. "I just want to wait my options out."

Currently, Reddick holds four scholarship offers – East Carolina, UNC, NC State, and South Carolina.

Reddick said he won't make any additional unofficial visits until the summer, where he plans on attending several camps. He's looking to camp at Alabama, East Carolina, and UNC.

At UNC's camp, Reddick said he might not participate, opting instead to hang out on campus with Thigpen.

At's Combine Saturday, Reddick recorded a 4.69-second 40-yard dash, a 4.31-second 20-yard shuttle, and a 7.64 L-cone. He also jumped 33.6 inches vertically and 9'6" broad. At the Shrine Bowl combine earlier this spring, he was timed at 4.50 in the 40-yard dash. Kevin Reddick Profile
