Holland, a 6-foot-2 275-pounder from Pittsburgh (Pa.) Perry Academy, played guard throughout his high school career.
"I started practicing taking snaps and working with my coaches on how to play center," said Holland. "I've found out that playing center is a lot more different than I thought it was going to be. But with working with my coaches once I get down to North Carolina I should be fine."
Holland speaks to Pittman, UNC's offensive line coach, and also John Shoop, UNC's offensive coordinator, weekly.
"They're just telling me to keep doing what I've been doing and I'll be ready when I come down," said Holland.
After his the conclusion of his football season, Holland participated in track and field, where he threw the shot put and discuss.
"It didn't go too well," said Holland, who clearly set very high goals for himself. "I finished second in the city in the shot and fourth in the discus."
Holland estimates his best throws as 55 feet in the shot put and 120 feet in the discus.
Fully qualified academically, Holland will enroll in the second summer semester at UNC. He said he will arrive on campus on June 18th.
