"I committed to Carolina. It's just the best fit for me. Roy's the best coach. It's just the best program out there. On top of all that I really want to go there."
You claimed UNC as your leader a few months ago…what is it that they did to separate themselves from the other schools on your list?
"I think Roy played a big role in all of that. I think he's the greatest coach you can have. He was just very patient with everything and they haven't really rushed me or said they're going to give me this much time or that much time. They've just been real laid back and professional. I noticed that and I really appreciated the way they did the whole recruiting process."
How is your relationship with Roy Williams?
"I feel like he's my coach already. I have a great relationship with him already. We talk, we laugh and we joke around. Every time he calls we talk for about an hour or so."
You took a visit out to UNC in December. Did seeing the campus and being able to be around the environment play into your decision?
"It's a great place to be and real college town. Everybody out there is about basketball. It's just North Carolina."
UCLA and Arizona got some commitments from other guards. How did that all play into your decision?
"I think it definitely made my decision easier, but that wasn't the deciding factor."
Looking back what was the biggest factor when you were contemplating a decision?
"It's just the best situation for me. I feel like Roy can push my game to the next level. I think he's going to be able to improve my game in any area that I need improvement in."
Roy Williams has recruited some highly ranked classes since he arrived – did that play any kind of role in your decision?
"Oh, yeah, definitely. One of his former players Marvin Williams plays for the Hawks and my dad coaches him. I got to go out to Atlanta and he talked to me for a little while. He told me about North Carolina and he said that it's the best place to go and I definitely took that under consideration."
What do you think you will you bring to the table at North Carolina?
"Just what I've been bringing to the table my whole life. I'm a pass first guy. I'll definitely bring leadership and when I need to score I'll score. I look to get my teammates involved and I'm an extension of the coach."
Have you talked to any other recruits about possibly going to Carolina with you?
"I haven't yet. I know the coaches talked about Jrue (Holiday), but I think that he put out that he was looking at a few different colleges. I haven't talked to him about it lately. I don't even know if he knows I committed. I will talk to him about it."
What's your plan for the rest of the summer?
"I have a pretty busy schedule and I'm not sure of the exact dates or the order. I'm going to a couple of camps. I'm not sure if I'm going to do the USA thing or the NBA thing yet."
How do you think you played this spring?
"I think my jumper has been kind of on and off a little bit. Other than that running a team and shooting the ball and being a leader I think that I've done okay."
