In addition to his film, Demps, a 5-foot-10 165-pound cornerback from Suwanee (Ga.) Peach Tree Ridge, has clocked 40-yard dash times as low as 4.35 seconds at various combines.
Prior to his UNC offer, Demps was offered by Mississippi and Virginia Tech. He expects that count to more than double by the end of the summer.
"I have three [offers] right now, but I have a whole lot of camps to go to where [the coaches] said they have to evaluate me in person first before they offer me," said Demps.
Demps will camp at Auburn, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Notre Dame, and Vanderbilt in hopes to earn scholarship offers. He also plans to camp at all three of his offering schools to receive the chance to work closely with their respective coaching staffs.
This weekend, Demps will head to Chapel Hill. There's a chance he might participate in Saturday's one-day camp. However, Demps is more likely to unofficially visit Friday and then return for a later camp.
Over the spring, Demps has made unofficial visits to Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech, and Wake Forest.
Favorites wise, Demps is leaning towards his three offering schools – Ole Miss, UNC, and Virginia Tech.
"I like their graduation rates, their coaches, and they all have good football program," said Demps.
Demps said he isn't looking to make a verbal commitment until after his senior football season begins.
As a junior, Demps lead the state of Georgia in interceptions with seven. He also collected 56 tackles, and blocked four punts and four field goals. For his accomplishments, Demps was named to the all-county team.
