Bowens, a 6-foot-2 210-pounder from Garner (N.C.), spent most of his day with linebackers coach Tommy Thigpen.
"It was pretty fun," said Bowens. "He was a real cool coach."
Bowens was asked to workout with the running back group during the second practice session. However, a scheduling conflict forced him to leave during the break in-between sessions.
"One of my coaches was working the camp and he said Coach [Kenny] Browning wanted to see me at running back," said Bowens.
In the early spring, UNC verbally offered Bowens a scholarship. However, they haven't since put the offer officially in writing.
"I didn't really get to sit down and talk to any of the coaches [about my offer] because I had to leave early," said Bowens.
Clemson, East Carolina, Marshall, and South Carolina have all extended Bowens a scholarship offer.
Bowens is currently favoring Alabama, North Carolina, and South Carolina.
"[I like those schools] mostly because the need for linebackers and the program they have," said Bowens.
While Bowens isn't completely sure about the rest of his summer camping schedule, he's trying to make it to both Alabama's and Tennessee's camps.
