Opening remarks -
There is not a lot to say. They are a good team, probably the best team we have played all year. That was a good ol' fashioned fanny whoopin.'. We hope we have the opportunity to play them again. We had little opportunity again them tonight. I thought their third baseman (Diego Seastrunk) was terrific. We'll rebound and try again on Tuesday.
On the starting pitching -
Our hope is to get a good start. These are kids, not robots, and bound to make mistakes. We have pitched so well all year and on this stage, against a team that hits well over the wall, we will have our hands full.
On his outing -
I'm not sure myself. There is not much to say. I am frustrated because I felt I had good stuff, especially the first and second innings. I think we will be fine on Tuesday.
On Rice pitcher Joe Savery's performance -
He has three good pitches he throws for strikes. He kept us off balance with his three pitches. He mixed it up really well, over the plate. We had a couple of good swings but we couldn't string anything together.
