Opening remarks -

I've been fortunate to coach a lot of players and no one has the heart of Robert Woodard. My hat is off to him. The last two games we've gotten good starting pitching. It was all about Robert [Woodard]. He has as much pride in his performance as anyone I know. He regroups between pitches and innings. We had the right person, as well as pitcher, on the mound today. The two double play balls in the 4th and 7th innings were huge. Dusty [Ackley] picked a good time to break out of it. It was a big swing of the bat by Dusty and Chad [Flack].

On both teams facing elimination on Thursday -

Some people would say we have the advantage. We're coming off a win and the home team. You throw that all out the window after the first pitch. It's all about performance.

On moving Ackley back up in the batting lineup -

I might consider it. He did all right in the seventh hole. We wouldn't be here without the year Dustin Ackley had. I'm glad he was up there when he was today.

On his performance -

Coach Forbes and I worked very hard in the days between then and now to prep for today. I was chopping at the bit to get back out there. I was very fortunate that things went the way they did today.

On his performance -

I think I have the same mindset every game. I just hit the ball today. I put some good swings on the ball. I talked to the coaches about some mechanical things I wasn't doing.
