Inside Carolina has confirmed through sources close to the situation that Southern Cal running back Emmanuel Moody arrived in Chapel Hill Tuesday afternoon for a campus visit. The Trojans' second-leading rusher in 2006 announced last week that he had decided to transfer.
A 6-foot-1, 205-pound rising sophomore, Moody gained 458 yards on 79 carries (5.8 yards per carry) last season before missing the final four games after suffering a bad ankle sprain against Oregon. He also missed the majority of the 2007 spring training camp because of a hamstring injury.
"North Carolina, I've heard great things about them," Moody told Scout.com's Oklahoma State affiliate earlier this week. "Their coach (Butch Davis) was at Miami and had success there. I think I need to check it out."
Moody was named a US Army All-American at Coppell (Texas) High School and ranked the No. 11 tailback in the nation in his class by Scout.com
Besides UNC, he is also considering Florida, Texas and Oklahoma State as potential transfer destinations.
