Jennings Coming to 'Late Night'

The Tar Heels are set for a big recruiting weekend. At least a handful of top prospects will be on-hand for ‘Late Night with Roy' on Friday night. The newest name to add to the list is Milton Jennings.

The 6-foot-9, 210-pound junior big man, who is receiving strong interest from the Heels, will make his first trip to North Carolina on Friday.

"I'm actually starting to take visits this weekend," Jennings said. I'm heading up to North Carolina. I actually have a bunch of visits scheduled. We went ahead and scheduled a game every other week."

Included among the group of Friday night visitors are 2009 targets Dominic Cheek, David Wear and Travis Wear, as well as 2010 commitment Kendall Marshall. All the above recruits have received official scholarship offers from the Tar Heels -- Jennings is still waiting on his.

"North Carolina has offered in a sense," Jennings said. "They said if I keep improving the way I am then they said that they would offer me."

The Summerville (S.C) Pinewood Prep standout holds scholarship offers from Florida, South Carolina, Clemson, UCLA, Florida, Georgetown, Connecticut and Virginia. Kansas is also in the picture, but has yet to offer.

Clemson, who he once claimed as his favorite, has been involved since the very beginning and according to Jennings the Tigers have made him their number one target. The Gamecocks, Bruins, Gators and Tar Heels have also made an impression on Jennings.

"My top five in no order is Clemson, North Carolina, USC, UCLA and Florida," Jennings said. "Those are my top five that I really like and I enjoy it when those coaches call. I also like some other schools like Georgetown, Virginia and Connecticut. I like them a lot, too."

Jennings had an impressive summer playing with Beach Ball Select. In Las Vegas he was particularly impressive, especially in a game against the loaded Atlanta Celtics.

Against the Celtics big men, Jennings showed an ability to shoot threes, as well as mix it up inside. His versatility is one reason he's being recruited at such a high level.

"I'm a shooting big man and I'm an inside-outside guy," he said. "I'm able to go inside and if I'm getting double teamed inside I can step out and hit the three. I shot 43-percent from three last season."
