"I guess when I traveled, something caught my eye and I liked [my time] at those schools."
Quinn, a 6-foot-4, 240-pound defensive end from North Charleston (S.C.) Fort Dorchester, has visited Auburn, Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Maryland, UNC, Rutgers, and South Carolina.
The logical next step for Quinn now is to take official visits.
"I want to take all five, but you can't always do that," Quinn said.
Regardless of how many official trips he ends up taking, he said a school outside of Quinn's current five favorites could sneak in and steal a visit.
"Things change all the time," Quinn said. "I might change my mind and take [an official visit] somewhere else."
However, Quinn won't actually begin to schedule official visits until after his senior football season.
In the meantime, Quinn will continue to take unofficial visits every Saturday. He has attended two games at South Carolina (Louisiana-Lafayette and SC State) and also a game at Presbyterian (versus Pikeville College) with a teammate.
This past weekend, Quinn traveled to Chapel Hill to check out the game-time atmosphere of Kenan Stadium.
"When the time came around, people got real rowdy here and there," Quinn said. "For the most part, [UNC's atmosphere] was real good – I liked it."
Quinn headed down to the locker room following the game and spoke to a few of UNC's coaches.
"I talked Coach [John] Blake, Coach [Butch] Davis, and the strength coach [Jeff Connors]," Quinn said. "It was mostly small talk because we had to get home."
Quinn said he takes his unofficial trip schedule on a week-to-week basis and thus doesn't have any set future plans.
