Henson Schedules UNC Visit

A little over a month ago, junior power forward John Henson mentioned that he'd hoped to set up some unofficial visits. On the eve of his junior season, the 6-9 forward from Round Rock (Texas) High has planned at least one visit already.

Henson's father, Matt, confirmed that the family would be taking an unofficial visit to Chapel Hill for the weekend of the Tar Heel game against UC-Santa Barbara.

"Yes, we'll be there on the 22nd December," said Henson of a trip to Chapel Hill. "We will be up there for Saturday."

According to the elder Henson, the family hopes to squeeze in a few more visits during the winter months.

"He's also thinking about going to UCLA," Henson told Inside Carolina. "Maybe in late January or early February we can start to figure out some of the other visits and where to go."

For now, Henson is focusing on the start of his junior year. His parents, on the other hand, have to figure out how to balance the schedules of a family with more than just one prodigious hoopster. As it turns out, Henson's 14-year-old sister is a player, too, and the 6-2 freshman is off to an impressive start.

"It's been really exciting, she's off to a great start," said Mr. Henson. "She's averaging 18 points a game in her first two varsity games."
