This Week's IC Radio Show

This week's show is online and ready for you to download! We start off with some analysis from last night's hoops season opener, and then it's all football talk -- one-on-one with UNC coach Butch Davis, Tar Heel analyst Deems May and IC beat writer Greg Barnes.

Nov. 15 Edition
Butch Davis:
"We're still in hopes that before the official recruiting period starts the 1st of Dec. that we'll have not only a model (of the stadium expansion), but also artist renderings and actual specific blueprints ... we're optimistic to start breaking ground at the conclusion of the '08 season."
Deems May:
"Coach Davis will challenge the younger guys - he'll tell them that they'll be a lot of evaluation these last two weeks and he'll learn a lot about their character and where they stand."
Greg Barnes:
"If they're able to keep these guys motivated, as young as they are, that says a lot about this program and the direction it'll go the next couple of years."

About the Inside Carolina Radio Show

The show originally aired on a local Triangle radio station. We had some opportunities to continue last season, but we went off the air because we only wanted to produce a show if we could provide a top-rate program -- with a professional host, quality guests, etc. We didn't want to just throw someone on the air and take calls for the sake of being a radio show. This won't be a typical call-in show. It's going to be an informational show, with exclusive interviews and objective analysis. And Taylor Zarzour, the sports director for WPTF 680AM (who has hosted the postgame football and basketball shows for the Tar Heel Sports Network as well as done play-by-play work for UNC), is back on board as the host to make sure that is the case.

Host Taylor Zarzour
Each week the show will be available on the site as a regular audio file that you can either open directly or download to your computer. You won't have to worry about missing it, as it'll be available for download 24/7, rather than just being on for 30 minutes live.

We decided to worry about setting up arrangements with local radio stations down the road, because to be honest, we have a much bigger audience right here than a small local radio station can provide. And our first priority is reaching you, our reader.

This show is going to be a work in progress, from the on-air content to the technical aspects (we're new to this whole "podcast" thing). As we fine tune the program, we'd love to get your feedback on what you liked, what you didn't like and what you want to see more of. You can contact host Taylor Zarzour directly at or you can contact the Inside Carolina editorial staff via the Contact Us page.

Enjoy and we look forward to hearing your feedback,
- The IC Staff
