Hartjes also said that there is a good chance the announcement will be made on a Wednesday, since both of Butch's parents do not work on that day and would be able to attend the news conference.
Butch is deciding between Wisconsin, North Carolina, Kansas and Marquette, although a source close to the situation has told Inside Carolina that the Jayhawks are no longer under serious consideration.
Hartjes also told the Madison Capital Times in a story last week that that Kansas "may be out of the running" and "are on the outside looking in." Arizona was eliminated from contention recently when the Wildcats chose to take Kirk Walters instead of waiting for Butch to decide.
Marquette is not considered a major factor, although Tom Crean's program is close to home and is a preseason consensus Top 25 club after finishing 26-7 last season and advancing to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1997.
"He's got safe choices in Wisconsin and Marquette," Hartjes said. "And a little more of a wild-card in going to Carolina. He's got to decide if he's willing to take a risk and go to Carolina. He knows the kids at both Marquette and Wisconsin real well."
Hartjes said that Butch has been concentrating on lifting weights in addition to open gym twice a week and shooting workouts two more times per week.
"He had a very busy summer and didn't put on any weight," Hartjes said. "In fact, he lost weight. He's working hard to put it back on and he's back to 215 pounds, which is where he was at the end of our season last year."
