With the verbal commitment of C.J. Feagles, UNC is finished
recruiting specialists – barring any unforeseen events.
Feagles' pledge will fill the void created by Terrence Brown's graduation following this season.
Casey Barth, brother of recently graduated Conner, will compete against Jay Wooten for his brother's former position, as a walk-on. If all goes as planned, Barth will be go on scholarship starting with the 2009 spring semester.
Feagles attended UNC's One-Day Camp in hopes of landing his first scholarship offer. After just one session guided by Butch Davis, Feagles received that offer.
After a couple of days of being home and evaluating his recruitment, Feagles decided to call Davis and verbally commit.
Feagles also received strong interest from Boston College, Notre Dame, and Rutgers.
The 2007 season was Feagles' first playing organized football. He handled just the punting duties, ending the season with a 38-yard punting average.
Feagles' father, Jeff, is a 21-year NFL veteran punter and a member of the defending Super Bowl champion New York Giants. It was Jeff's connection to head coach Butch Davis that brought C.J. to UNC's camp last weekend.
