Football Recruits Scoreboard -- updated

Inside Carolina tracks the performances of UNC's football recruits each weekend.

  • Hawatha Bell: "But, it was the Bulldogs' defense that starred. Hawatha Bell (two sacks) and others put near-constant pressure in Vance's backfield, including forcing the two high-arching throws that [Mark] Bridges snatched out of the air." -- Charlotte Observer Article
  • Byron Best: "...raced 50 yards untouched on simple dive play out of the I-formation to push Greenwood's lead to 25-7." -- Index Journal Article
  • Jhay Boyd: "[his] 76-yard catch-and-run for a touchdown from quarterback Dontrae Meeks put Ashbrook ahead for good with just over six minutes left in the third. Set up by another long pass from Meeks to Boyd, Jordan Toomer charged in from 5 yards out early in the fourth quarter." -- Gaston Gazette Article
  • D.J. Bunn: scored all three of Smithfield-Selma's touchdowns (6- and 76-yard runs and 35-yard reception). He rushed seven times for 105 yards and caught two passes for 48 yards. On defense, recorded five tackles (four solo). -- Inside Carolina Article
  • Ray Ray Davis: two touchdown receptions of 22 and 16 yards. -- Charlotte Observer Article
  • Justin Dixon: collected ten tackles (five solo), two sacks, a forced fumble, and a pass deflection. He carried the ball eight times for 19 yards. -- Inside Carolina Article
  • Hunter Furr: rushed for four touchdowns.
  • Mywan Jackson: "...capped a 7-play, 54-yard drive with a 13-yard touchdown pass to Dykerius Cross for an early 7-0 lead."
  • -- Tampa Tribune Article
  • Angelo Hadley: "...sealed a 9-2 Armwood victory Friday night in front of a sellout crowd at Dad's Stadium and a national television audience on ESPNU when he picked off an Aaron Murray pass deep in Hawks territory with 1:25 left in the game. Hadley had dropped a sure interception early in the game, so he was more than happy to be on the receiving end when it mattered most.."
  • "It feels great," Hadley told the Tampa Tribune. "We'd been waiting on this all day." -- Tampa Tribune Article
  • Jared McAdoo: posted six tackles (three solo) and a QB hurry. -- Inside Carolina Article
  • Donte Moss: one carry for two yards. -- Daily News Article
  • Bryn Renner: went 26-for-43 passing for 409 yards and four touchdowns, and rushed 12 times for 23 yards. "I was worried we gave them too much time at the end there. That Renner is going to be special at [North] Carolina," Edison Coach Vaughn Lewis told Digital Sports. -- Digital Sports Article
  • Logan Thomas: "engineered a 14-play, 83-yard drive capped by a 12-yard pass play to slot receiver Lorenzo Smith and a 2-yard touchdown run by Houston with 3:13 left in the first quarter... Thomas shouldered his share of the load, picking up first downs with a 5-yard pickup on third-and-inches from his 27 and a 10-yard keeper on second-and-4 from Salem's 25. He then found Smith wide open for a screen pass on the right side." "It was a great atmosphere to play in to get us prepared for down the road when we get into the playoffs," Thomas told the Lynchburg News Advance. "The defense played a phenomenal game. That front line of Zach Burns, Michael Leeman, Mikel Washington, Ben Simmons, just shut it down. They did a great job of stopping the run." -- Lynchburg News Advance Article
