Lynn Knows Three

Slowly, but surely, Gabe Lynn is dwindling down his list of options in an effort to furnish his final five schools. The 6-foot, 179-pound cornerback from Jenks (Okla.) knows three of the five.

"Right now, [Oklahoma] and North Carolina and probably Nebraska are good with me," said Lynn, who is ranked the No. 2 cornerback in the nation and a five-star prospect by Scout.com. "Those schools are not in my top or anything, but are schools I think about a lot. Right now, those are the schools I know about the most."

Lynn wants to have his five schools constructed "as soon as possible."

"I'm just about there," Lynn said. "I kind of have an idea, but I'm trying to look at some other schools also."

Lynn says a lot of schools are vying for the final two spots.

"Right now, I haven't eliminated anybody so I'm still looking into a lot of different schools," Lynn said. "[I'm considering] some of the Big 12 schools, LSU, and Texas – schools like that."

Slowing down Lynn's process is his senior football season, which obviously takes precedence. His football schedule, which kicked off Friday, will prevent Lynn from making visits until later in the fall.

Once he has his final five schools, Lynn said he will schedule and take all five of his official visits. He expects to have his collegiate decision shortly after his final trip.

Lynn says that he and John Blake, his UNC primary recruiter, "still talk a lot."

"We talk about everything, anything and everything," Lynn said. "I don't talk to him just as a coach; it's more like a relative or close friend. I've known him for a while now, so it's different."

Also, Blake has clued Lynn in on UNC's recruitment for the secondary.

"He says they need defensive backs right now," Lynn said. "He said they're pretty thin. He says they want to sign four defensive backs."
