Football Recruits Scoreboard

Inside Carolina tracks the performances of UNC's football recruits each weekend.

  • Hawatha Bell: "Butler answered West Charlotte's challenge with Juwaun Edwards' 18-yard run to cap an eight-play, 80-yard drive for a nine-point lead at the end of the third, a 1-yard [touchdown] run by Hawatha Bell and Eric Connor's fumble recovery in West Charlotte's end zone late for the final tally." -- Charlotte Observer Article
  • Byron Best: rushed for 23 yards on six carries. "But [Shell] Dula also admitted Swearinger and Best need more involvement in the offense." -- Index Journal Article
  • Jheranie Boyd: caught eight passes for 91 yards. "While Boyd had a 90-yard kickoff return for a touchdown and nearly 100 yards receiving, Olympic still came away with a 31-14 home victory due mostly to its turnover-forcing defense." -- Charlotte Observer Article Gaston Gazette Article
  • Hunter Furr: rushed for 83 yards on 19 carries. -- Inside Carolina Article Winston-Salem Journal Article
  • Josh Hunter: "The defense forced three turnovers, including Joshua Hunter's 85-yard interception return for a touchdown that capped the scoring." -- Charlotte Observer Article
  • Mywan Jackson: completed 8-of-15 passes for 148 yards and two touchdowns (15 and 25 yards). He also rushed nine times for 96 yards and three touchdowns (3, 22, and 31 yards). -- Tampa Tribune Article
  • Joshua McKie: "[In overtime], the Mavericks scored in two plays, this time on a six yard run from [Jeremiah] McKie and it was then that they were faced with a decision. Westside made a major mistake on the following extra point, lining up in the neutral zone and drawing an all-important two-yard penalty. When Mauldin used their timeout after that penalty, there was little doubt that Shaw would have them going for the win. Shaw made the gutsy call and another McKie — this time Joshua — it over right guard for the win." -- Anderson Independence-Mail Article
  • Sam Montgomery: "Greenwood is going to get back on track, coach [Shell] Dula is going to have a winning season," Montgomery told the Index Journal. "We're all going to leave out of this thing peacefully and happy and with a state championship."
     -- Index Journal Article
  • Jerrell Rhodes: "... wasn't needed much and tallied 53 yards on nine carries – all in the first half." -- News & Observer Article "... led the Falcons with 47 yards on eight carries." -- Herald-Sun Article
  • Logan Thomas: "... accounted for five touchdowns, including two in the decisive third quarter." He passes for 206 yards and four touchdowns and rushed for 131 yards including a 66-yard run to pay dirt. -- News & Advance Article
