North Carolina freshman Rashad McCants was tabbed as the ACC Basketball Player of the Week after being named the Most Valuable Player of the Preseason NIT after leading UNC to wins over #2 Kansas and Stanford. McCants was the leading scorer in both games -- 25 vs. Kansas and 18 vs. Stanford while hitting on 17 for 26 from the floor, three-for-six from 3-point range and six-of-eight from the free throw line in the two games. McCants leads the ACC in scoring with a 21.2 points per game average.
